What You Can Do

The city is considering comments about the proposed regulations until August 3rd. After that the regulations could pass into law. Here are some steps that you can take now:

1) Click here to email comments to the powers that be.
We’ve set up a sample letter that you can edit, and then just click to send automatically to the head of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting and all the City Council representatives on the committee that oversees that office.

2) Sign our Petition. Tell your friends to do the same.

3) Submit YouTube Video comments and Flickr Photographs relating to this issue. Tag them “PictureNewYork” and “CameraWars”. Send them to jcho@film.nyc.gov and to info@pictureny.org.Photos added to the PictureNY Flickr group will be displayed randomly in the top banner of this website.

4) Add a Picture New York banner to your website.
PictureNY.org

To place this Picture New York banner on your website, simply add the following html to your web page:

<a href=”http://pictureny.org”><img src=”http://pictureny.org/logos/pny_logo.jpg” width=”125″ height=”75″ border=”1″ alt=”PictureNY.org”></a>

There are more Picture NY banners available too.

5) Send personal comments in the mail or by fax. Personal, individualized comments that come through the U.S. Postal Service or by fax are worth their weight in gold. They’re not so common these days, so they’ll really stand out.
