This law is a total absurd asault on the ability to document the social history of the world we live in. Whether a birthday party, a beautiful day in the park, or the unraveling of major events… we need photographs!!!
The city can not regulate picture taking… how are we going to get pictures…. we can’t get GOOD pictures… unless we have amature photographers.
STOP THIS ABSURD CONTROL FREAK APPROACH TO ‘STOPPING’ A PROBLEM THAT DOES NOT EXIST./

What does this do to film and TV production? In April Crain’s Business Journal reported a steady increase in film/TV production in New York City with a particular spike in 2006. This is bad news for us actors living in New York who want to have the best of all: film/TV/theatre. These new regulations might prevent certain types of work being available to us in New York.

because the permit requires insurance… and insurance requires a premium payment… I would think that the insurance companies will appreciate the new government backed growth revenue stream. Insurance companies are probably really enjoying the City of New York Government helping contributing to their financial well being.
