New York Times Reports Unlawful Arrest of Subway Photographer

This underlines the serious problem of continued police failure to respect the rules regarding the right to photograph in New York City. Although the subway system is under different jurisdiction than the streets, a proposed photo ban was defeated years ago (though, unlike on the streets, you’d need a permit to use a tripod).
